According to Tech Radar and Mac Rumors, Apple is offering replacements to owners of 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display notebooks, that need a battery replacement.
They say that Apple is short on the part needed to fix them. To inquire about a replacement, Tech Radar says that the battery "must hold less than 80% capacity on maximum charge" and have been "fully charged less than 1,000 times."
Customers can opt for a replacement model or strike a trade-in deal on a new laptop. Tech Radar adds that the shortage may run until September, when Apple would then cover the cost of a new battery.
