Pursuing the Greatest Life One Can

People—including myself—seem to be taking more care of their lives than is truly necessary when I watch them talking about their issues. People these days, and by this I mean maybe the last fifty years, are stressed out about many different things, such as youth, sex, money, careers, and passions.

And by no means am I suggesting that these matters are unimportant. I'm just saying that in order to feel satisfied, there's a lot of pressure and standards placed on you to accomplish these goals in a certain way and before a certain age. For example, you're supposed to find your life's purpose and passion before a certain age, and by that age, you must have this much money, and so on.

Furthermore, even if that is true for one person, it is undoubtedly not true for everyone. That is not usual at all. So people are always in a hurry to do something then comparing themselves to others and feel unsatisfied and dissatisfied with their lives and we feel that we're always lacking something that we should live and forget to actually live our own lives instead.

People from roughly 200 years ago grew up seeing their father as a woodsman, therefore he must be one as well. At the age of 20, he is married with two children and that is all. I am not advocating that this is the way we should live now. I'm only saying that they didn't have all these fancy phrases to worry about back then; they were simply living. You do not need to live like them; all you need to do is learn to live your own life. You don't need to discover your dream work; a good job that you don't despise is typically sufficient. You don't have to find the finest things conceivable to be satisfied; you could be lucky and find a couple of those things, but if you don't, that's fine; it's not something you have to do.

Therefore, I believe we should be kind with ourselves and do our best to live in a way that matches our desires for our age and pace. Instead of worrying about how things should be done, we should just enjoy our meals, coffee, and company with friends and family. Perhaps pick up a fun pastime or game to pass the time while this mayhem continues. Before it all ends, it will only be a matter of years, so don't waste them chasing after false dreams created by other people.

Your life is your story.
